All releases listed are U.K. releases unless otherwise noted.

The 45, 12" and CD single versions of each single's sleeve are ususally the same, so to conserve on download time, I only show one version of the sleeve. Rest assured, the other versions are essentially the same. I've tried to include most of the notable variations that I own--for instance, the "Halleluiah Man" Ltd. Edition 12" and CDV covers are included because they're substantially different from the sleeve that was usually used for that single. Most vinyl UK promo releases were released in generic white sleeves, so those sleeves are not included.

The covers for a few of the releases in the "Odds & Ends" section are not shown, simply because I don't own them. If you have any of them and would like to send me a scan to include, I'd really appreciate it!

  • This was probably never released. Phonogram's pressing records indicate that this was planned for release as MONEY 722, but I've never seen it. I suspect that the live tracks were replaced and that this version of 722 doesn't exist. Possibly it was changed because "Up Escalator" was going to be the next single. If it does exist, the records show that it would have been released with a color insert, but more importantly, I want one!

    A green cardboard box for all three CD singles from this album came with "My Love Lives In A Dead House", in hopes of getting fans to buy the other two CDs. The box reads "Limited Edition Love & Money Dogs In The Traffic Compact Disc Singles Collection" and has no catalog number on it.


    As far as I know, there never was a MONEY 11; they just skipped it, or more likely, a single was planned for release and then cancelled.

  • This is a single released to 'celebrate' the Scottish football team making the finals of the World Cup in 1990, and features the team singing on the chorus (For all us Americans, think of the old "Super Bowl Shuffle" song by the Chicago Bears--same idea without the rapping). The guest vocalists are Fish (Marillion), James Grant, Donnie Munro (Runrig) and Jimmie O'Neill (The Silencers). Also notable is that Douglas Vipond (Deacon Blue) played the drums. Grant did not write any of the music and none of the guest vocalists appear on the B-side. This song unequivocally sucks. (Thanks to David McGavin)

  • A number of Glasgow bands contributed tracks to this album--some rare, some not so rare. Reportedly, L&M's track is the usual studio version of "Jocelyn Square." Also present are Deacon Blue, Lloyd Cole and a lot of others, apparently. It was a tribute to Oscar Marzaroli, a Scottish photographer who died in 1988. The collection was produced by Ricky Ross, singer/songwriter for the late Deacon Blue.

  • This set's packaging is bland enough to imply that it is some sort of shop-play-only promo release (but nothing on the packaging states this, there may also be a tape or vinyl). L&M are disc 2, track 10. Other featured artists include Tears for Fears, Was (not) Was and James. The booklet reads: "Produced by Gary Katz, this Scottish band features one of Britain's finest guitarist/writers in James Grant. The coupling of the band with Gary Katz gave us the nearest anyone is ever going to get to Steely Dan, short of rejuvenation of the original group. Jocelyn Square is in Glasgow."   • One of two albums from a Scottish TV series. They get a big house, bring a number of different artists in and let them play together - 95% acoustic, no audience. The album is a compilation, then, with each artist doing one song, presumably backed by the others. James Grant doesn't have his own track per se; he's listed as a "guest artist," so I'm guessing he backs Karen Matheson on her track.

    Friends Again was a pre-cursor to Love And Money; the band included James Grant, Stuart Kerr and Paul McGeechan. Chris Thomas, main vocalist/songwriter for the group, went on to be in the Bathers and Bloomsday.
